Welcome to the Official Schedule for RightsCon 2019, the world’s leading summit on human rights in the digital age.

Together at RightsCon Tunis, our first summit hosted in the Middle East and North Africa, more than 2500 expert practitioners will come together across over 400 sessions to shape, contribute to, and drive forward the global agenda for the future of our human rights.

I research journalism, social media and civil society in Africa. I am currently working on a project about Facebook's Free Basics initiative across different African contexts. I am also developing an open-source tool that deploys digital technologies to scan for damaging stereotypes and implicit biases in journalistic reporting about Africa (Africa Stereotype Scanner - ASTRSC). Come and talk to me about these projects and more generally: net neutrality and zero-rating, bias and technology, digital advocacy and activism in the Global South, and tech corporations investments in network infrastructures.
