Diego is a Humna Rights Officer at the OHCHR’s Right to Development Section. He joined the team in 2017. He has organized numerous conferences, seminars, editions of the Social Form and drafted reports by the Secretary General and the High Commissioner for Human Rights on, e.g., the right to development, the contribution of development to the enjoyment of human rights, least developed countries. He holds a Ph.D. on Political Science (Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG)), a Master of Advanced Studies from (Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights), and a Bachelor of Laws (UFMG). He has worked as a consultant to UNESCO and to the Ibero-American Organization for Education, Science and Culture, as a lecturer on human rights and international humanitarian law in Universities in Brazil and Belarus, and as Director of Human Rights Protection in the Government of the State of Minas Gerais (Brazil).
