The main areas of interest include digital authoritarianism and its implications on human rights and press freedom as well as the safety of journalists online and platform accountability. Originally from Azerbaijan, she is currently based in Istanbul, where she continues her journalism work and works as regional editor for South Caucasus and Turkey at Global Voices.
