Kronia Collaborative
Principal
Washington D.C. Metro Area
Betsy Bramon, is an interdisciplinary social impact consultant. With a multifaceted background as a donor, policy maker, service provider, and advocate, she works with nonprofits, tech-startups, private foundations and community groups to help teams achieve social good, from the inside out. Previously, Betsy spent seven years in human rights policy and program management at the U.S. Department of State. As one of the original architects of the global Internet Freedom “venture capital” style fund, she oversaw $93 million of investments in open-source technology development, digital security, advocacy and research. She institutionalized the inclusion of historically marginalized groups into foreign assistance, and harnessed public-private partnerships to develop multiple emergency assistance funds for human rights defenders and survivors of gender-based violence. As a Senior Policy Advisor in the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues, Betsy led multilateral, UN, White House National Security Council, and Interagency negotiations to advance policy on gender equality, gender-based violence, sexual and reproductive health and rights, inclusive technology and the gender digital divide and girls access to STEM. Prior to her work at the State Department, Betsy lived and worked across Asia, Africa and Europe, with labor rights and human trafficking social enterprises and non-governmental organizations.
