Ephemeral onions   (The Tor Project)

This demo is about creating and running ephemeral .onion services to share websites or simple web applications. We present different use cases for onion services and a wrapper app that allows you to start a .onion and start sharing a static website or a web application. Because .onion services live on the Tor network, you do not need hosting or a public ip address to offer some service via .onion address. The .onion is hosted on your computer for the time you desire, allowing the people visiting your site to remain anonymous, and also you. We believe anonymity to be very important since it can free people, allowing them to decide how to expose themselves or to make themselves visible on their own terms.

Resilient Networks, Free and Open Source Geospatial Technologies and Open Data to Achieve the SDGs (Map the Philippines)

The new realities of increasing geopolitics, conflict, food security, corruption and climate change require a new model of collaboration across the sectors. Open data and free and open source geospatial technologies from mapping to video to processed satellite imagery tools enable a more real-time, real life model to better prioritize, mobilize and monitor initiatives. By layering public and private sector data within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, more impact and community driven decisions can be made at the local, regional and national level, identifying gaps and overlaps, risks and opportunities. Internet of Things, DNA sensors and traceability software help establish resilient networks of trust and trade built on shared values, environmental protection and liveable wages. Map the Philippines Inc. (MapPH) has implemented this model in the agriculture, conflict and food insecure areas in Mindanao, to map rural agriculture and artisan infrastructure, study the impact of transportation infrastructure on gender, and analyze container truck logistics to shape public and private sector investment in the region. The next phase involves the transition of local communities into premium and ethical livelihoods in agriculture, artisan trades, tourism and technology.
