Welcome to the Official Schedule for RightsCon 2019, the world’s leading summit on human rights in the digital age.
Together at RightsCon Tunis, our first summit hosted in the Middle East and North Africa, more than 2500 expert practitioners will come together across over 400 sessions to shape, contribute to, and drive forward the global agenda for the future of our human rights.
Important note: Whether you’re a session organizer, speaker, or participant, you’ll need to login to Sched or create an account in order to get the most out of the program (including creating a profile and building your own customized RightsCon schedule).
The session will enable participants to better understand how dynamic accountability (i.e. ongoing, meaningful and transformative stakeholder engagement) can help build an organisation’s relevance and legitimacy, therefore rendering it more resilient. To do this, we will draw upon experiences from our Resilient Roots initiative, which is working with 15 CSOs in diverse contexts to design and implement new accountability mechanisms. Building upon real life examples from the two Resilient Roots pilot partners present at the event, participants will unpack key concepts (dynamic accountability, resilience, etc), then identify and discuss the interests of different key stakeholders. Participants will then devise and brainstorm practical approaches to become more “dynamically” accountable to these stakeholders. Subsequently, the group will reflect on the different ways becoming more accountable to key stakeholders can increase an organisation’s resilience. Finally, participants will be invited to continue the conversation via the Resilient Roots initiative and a new global dynamic accountability community of practice.
